Dr. Rupika Delgoda Clarke is a tenured, Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Science and Technology and the Director of the Natural Products Institute (NPI), at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona. Following a D.Phil. degree in Pharmacology at Oxford University, U.K. and a post-doctoral research Fellowship in Biochemistry at the University of Leicester, U.K., she commenced research in the Mona campus of UWI in Jamaica. Her research is focused on ethnomedicines and bio-prospecting Jamaican natural products from plants, marine and microorganisms, for medicinal worth and investigating their safe use. Among her publications is the recently released edited book, “Pharmacognosy: Fundamentals, Applications and Strategies” by Elsevier.
